Skýrsla Tom Vidar Kaasa 2018

MSÍ og AKÍS náðu samkomulagi við Norska akstursíþróttasambandið um að hingað kæmi sérfræðingur í brautarúttektum og gæfi sitt mat á öryggi og mögulegum ráðstöfunum.

MSÍ óskaði eftir frekari skýringum og mati Tom Vidar á því að MSÍ heimili ekki öflugustu flokka mótorhjóla á braut BA, eingöngu óbreytt hjól.

I have read your mail and first I will say that our regulations are for cars and not bikes. The track regulations are mostly the same.

I have mentioned to several of your people that I think that speed limit is a difficult way of regulating the sport. In my mind I would prefer limitation on track length and technical limitations on the car/bike.

I also think it is ok to ban classed witch goes to fast and are a safety issue on specific tracks.

I think that the safety at Akureyri is not as god as it should for the fastest classes.

It would be safer to allow only stock bikes without any modification except modification that can increase safety. (brakes and suspension)

But then again i work with safety and track for cars so my expertise is not so great for the different bike categories.
